ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how a special nutritional supplement, which includes leucine (a type of protein) and polyunsaturated fatty acids (healthy fats), can help improve muscle health in older adults. The focus is on people aged 50 and older who may be at risk for sarcopenia, a condition characterized by the loss of muscle mass and strength as we age. By participating in this study, individuals will receive these supplements to see if they can help maintain or improve their muscle function.
To be eligible for the trial, participants must be at least 50 years old and meet certain health criteria, such as having lower muscle mass or grip strength. However, people with allergies to supplements, certain serious health conditions like cancer or heart failure, and other specific issues cannot participate. Those who join the study can expect to receive guidance on their health and how these supplements might benefit them. This trial is important as it aims to find ways to help older adults stay strong and healthy as they age.
