ClinConnect Summary
The Zhejiang Adolescent Spine and Vision Health Cohort study is looking into how common conditions like scoliosis (curved spine) and myopia (nearsightedness) are among young people aged 6 to 18 in Zhejiang Province. The researchers want to see how these conditions change over eight years and understand what factors might contribute to them. By conducting health screenings, they also aim to educate families about scoliosis and help catch any issues early to prevent them from getting worse.
To participate in the study, young people need to be diagnosed with idiopathic scoliosis (which means the cause is unknown), be between 6 and 17 years old, and have a specific curvature of the spine. The study is currently recruiting participants of all genders. If eligible, participants can expect regular health check-ups and educational sessions about scoliosis. It's important to note that those with other types of scoliosis or certain medical conditions may not qualify for the study.
