ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new technique to help doctors perform a colonoscopy, which is a procedure used to examine the inside of the colon. Specifically, the trial is comparing different methods of guiding the colonoscope (the tube used in the procedure) through a part of the colon called the sigmoid colon. The researchers want to see if using a cap attached to the colonoscope can help it move through this area more easily, without creating loops that can make the procedure harder or less effective.
To be eligible for this study, participants should be between the ages of 18 and 80 and will need to have the colonoscopy done with sedation to ensure comfort. However, people with certain health issues, like a history of colorectal surgery, known cancer, or specific bowel conditions, cannot participate. If you join the study, you can expect to be randomly assigned to one of the different methods being tested, but you won’t know which method you are receiving. The trial is not yet recruiting participants, so keep an eye out for updates if you’re interested!
