ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is exploring a new way to help young adults who drink heavily to manage their alcohol consumption. It involves a combination of brief online counseling and the use of mobile apps that provide personalized feedback about their blood or breath alcohol levels. The goal is to see if these tools can help participants drink in moderation. The trial is currently recruiting participants aged 18 to 25 who have recently engaged in heavy drinking, meaning women who have had 4 or more drinks and men who have had 5 or more drinks in a single occasion in the past month.
If you or someone you know is eligible, participants will use these technologies during the study period and share their experiences regarding how easy they are to use and how helpful they find them. It's important to note that individuals with severe substance use disorders, certain psychiatric conditions, or specific medical issues that make drinking unsafe are not eligible to participate. This trial is a chance to contribute to important research aimed at reducing heavy drinking among young adults.
