ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how young children with developmental language disorder (DLD) learn new words. DLD makes it hard for children to develop language skills, which can affect their learning and social interactions. The researchers want to find out if using a special method that adapts to each child's learning needs can help them remember new words better than a standard learning method. They will compare two approaches: one where children practice recalling words at set times and another where the timing is adjusted to fit each child's progress.
To participate, children must be between four and five years old and have a significant language delay, but they should not have any other serious conditions like autism or neurological disorders. They also need to have normal hearing and be native English speakers. If your child qualifies, they will join in activities designed to help improve their word learning skills. This study aims to find effective ways to support children with DLD, so they can improve their language abilities and thrive in school and life.
