ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new way to help people with hemianopia, a condition where they have lost vision in half of their visual field, often due to a brain injury. The researchers are comparing a special training method called biofeedback training, which uses light and sound to stimulate the brain, to a control group that does not receive this training. Participants will attend five sessions lasting 20 minutes each, where they will learn to focus on areas of their vision that they can still see. Before and after the training, they will complete vision tests and answer questions about their quality of life.
To be eligible for this trial, participants must be between 18 and 90 years old and have been diagnosed with hemianopia at least six months after their brain injury. They should also be able to follow instructions related to the training. However, individuals who have had previous treatment for low vision rehabilitation or have certain eye diseases may not qualify. This trial is currently recruiting participants, and it offers a promising opportunity for those looking to improve their visual function and overall quality of life after a brain injury.
