ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how spinal posture, balance, and ankle muscle tightness affect children with autism compared to children without autism. Researchers want to understand if children with autism have different spinal mobility, balance skills, and walking patterns, especially when they walk on their tiptoes. The study will involve two groups: one group of children diagnosed with autism and another group of typically developing children. Families will help by filling out a questionnaire about their child's development, and children will undergo various tests to assess their posture, balance, and muscle flexibility.
To participate, children need to be between 6 and 18 years old and have a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder. They should also have a specific level of mobility and an IQ score of 50 or higher. However, children with certain physical conditions or recent surgeries that affect their movement won’t be eligible. Although the study is not recruiting yet, it aims to provide valuable insights into how autism affects physical abilities, which could help in developing better support and therapies for these children in the future.
