ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is focused on understanding how female athletes sweat during their training sessions. Researchers want to learn about the amount of sweat produced, how much sodium (a type of salt) is in the sweat, and how much sodium is lost while sweating. The study includes female athletes aged 13 and older who participate in sports like basketball, soccer, volleyball, cheerleading, flag football, and softball.
To join the study, participants must be female, at least 13 years old, and cleared by a doctor to participate in sports. If they are under 18, a parent or guardian will need to give permission. During the trial, participants will take part in their regular training, and the researchers will measure their sweat. It's important to note that only athletes who do not have allergies to adhesives (like band-aids) and are advised by their team's medical staff can participate. This study aims to gather valuable information that could help improve training and performance for female athletes.
