ClinConnect Summary
The PrEVE study is looking at how a sexual health program can help women in vulnerable situations, particularly those living in the Paris region. The program aims to provide these women with important information, screenings, and preventive treatments to improve their sexual health and reduce the risk of HIV and other sexually transmitted infections (STIs). Women are often at a higher risk for these issues due to factors like unstable housing, experiences of violence, or being involved in sex work. Unfortunately, many women do not have access to preventive care like Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP), a medication that can help prevent HIV.
To participate in this study, women need to be 18 years or older and living in Ile de France. They should be facing social or economic challenges, like not having a stable home or being a sex worker. Participants will receive support from community organizations and can expect to be informed about their sexual health needs, screened for health issues, and offered preventive options like PrEP. This study is important because it aims to reach women who have not been adequately supported in the past and to understand how to better engage them in sexual health services.
