ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how different breathing exercises and a device called Triflow can help patients breathe better after having mitral valve replacement surgery. The researchers want to find out whether using the Triflow alone or combining it with deep breathing and cough exercises is more effective in improving lung function after surgery. Since previous studies on this topic have shown mixed results, this trial aims to provide clearer answers.
To be eligible to participate, you should be between the ages of 65 and 74, be able to read and understand the local language, and be willing to volunteer for the study. However, if you have unstable heart conditions, develop breathing problems after surgery, or have certain mouth or palate issues, you won't be able to take part. If you join the trial, you can expect to learn about and practice breathing exercises that could help improve your recovery after surgery.
