ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying the effects of using ice applied inside the rectum during a prostate biopsy procedure. Prostate biopsies are common procedures where a needle is used to take samples from the prostate to check for cancer. While these procedures are effective, they can also cause pain, anxiety, and other complications like bleeding or infections. The researchers want to see if applying ice can help reduce pain and anxiety, lower stress hormone levels, and decrease the chances of complications after the biopsy.

To participate in this trial, you need to be a man over the age of 18 who is scheduled for your first prostate biopsy and can understand and agree to take part in the study. If you have any mental health issues, communication problems, or have had a biopsy before, you won’t be eligible. If you join the study, you can expect to receive ice treatment during your biopsy and help researchers learn more about ways to make this procedure easier for patients.
