ClinConnect Summary
The Salud Diabetes trial is a research study designed to see how a special program that provides fresh produce can help adults with Type 2 Diabetes (T2D) who haven't been using insulin. This study focuses on Hispanic and Latino adults who have a high blood sugar level, measured by a test called HbA1c, which needs to be 9% or higher. The goal is to find out if this produce prescription can improve their health and manage their diabetes better.
To join the study, you need to be at least 18 years old, have diagnosed Type 2 Diabetes with an HbA1c level of 9% or higher, and agree to track your blood sugar using a device called a continuous glucose monitor (CGM) provided by the study. Unfortunately, people with Type 1 diabetes, those who use insulin, are pregnant, or take certain medications that affect blood sugar levels won't be eligible to participate. If you join, you can expect support and guidance on healthier lifestyle choices, along with access to fresh produce, which could make a positive difference in managing your diabetes.
