ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial, called "Emotional Brain Training for Addiction Medicine Treatment," is exploring a new approach to help people dealing with addiction, such as problems with cannabis, stimulants, opioids, tobacco, alcohol, and certain medications for anxiety or sleep. The study is testing a method called Emotional Brain Training (EBT) that teaches participants how to manage stress and improve their emotional health by changing how their brains respond to triggers. Participants in the trial will either continue with their usual treatment, which includes medications and counseling, or they will receive the EBT program alongside their standard care. The goal is to see if adding EBT helps reduce stress, anxiety, and cravings more effectively than standard care alone.

To be eligible for this study, participants must be at least 18 years old, speak and read English, and be receiving regular treatment for addiction at the SAC Health clinic. They should also have reliable access to a phone or the internet and be willing to participate in group sessions. Throughout the 8-week study, participants will attend weekly group meetings and complete online assessments to track their progress. After the study, everyone will return to their regular treatment. If you're interested and meet the eligibility criteria, this could be a valuable opportunity to explore new tools for managing addiction and improving your quality of life.
