ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new way to manage pain before surgery for patients with hip fractures. The researchers want to see if a method called the PENG block, which involves injecting medication near certain nerves in the hip area with the help of ultrasound, can provide better pain relief. The goal is to make patients more comfortable, reduce the need for pain medications after surgery, help patients recover faster, and ultimately lower the risks associated with surgery.
To be eligible for this trial, participants must be scheduled for surgery due to a hip fracture. However, some individuals may not qualify, including those who regularly take pain medications, have certain allergies, or have a history of substance abuse. If you join the study, you can expect to receive the PENG block before your surgery. The trial is currently not recruiting participants, so more information will be available once it begins.
