ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at a new way to help manage pain after a common surgery called laparoscopic cholecystectomy, which is performed to remove the gallbladder. Although this surgery is minimally invasive, many patients experience moderate to severe pain afterward. This study will test a technique called recto-intercostal nerve block, which may help reduce the need for strong pain medications like opioids that can have side effects such as nausea, constipation, and difficulty breathing. The goal is to see if this nerve block can lower the amount of opioids used during surgery and improve pain relief after the procedure.
To participate in this trial, you must be between 18 and 65 years old and scheduled for an elective laparoscopic cholecystectomy. However, if you have certain health issues, are on chronic pain medications, or have any allergies to local anesthetics, you may not be eligible. If you join the study, you can expect to receive the nerve block during your surgery and be monitored for pain levels afterward. This research could lead to better pain management strategies for patients undergoing this type of surgery.
