ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new approach to prevent serious foot problems in people with diabetes, specifically focusing on diabetic foot disease and diabetic foot ulcers. The researchers want to see if a new strategy, developed by health experts in the Balearic Islands, can help reduce complications compared to the usual care currently offered in primary care centers in Majorca. They will also look at how widely this new strategy is used, how effective it is compared to standard care, and how well healthcare providers follow the new guidelines over time.
To participate in the trial, you must be at least 18 years old and have type 1 or type 2 diabetes. You should also be visiting one of the participating primary care centers during the study. However, individuals with gestational diabetes, those who already have diabetic foot ulcers, or those who have had lower limb amputations before the study cannot join. If you participate, you can expect to receive either the new prevention strategy or the usual care, and the trial aims to track your health and the effectiveness of the different approaches over time. This study is currently not recruiting participants yet, but it aims to help improve foot care for people with diabetes in the future.
