ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is exploring the use of a new method called High-Flow Oxygen Therapy (HFOT) during a specific type of surgery known as endoscopy, which examines the throat, voice box, and esophagus. Typically, patients receive oxygen through a small tube placed in their nose while they are under general anesthesia for this procedure. The researchers want to see if using HFOT, which provides a higher flow of oxygen, can be just as effective or even better than the standard method. This could potentially reduce risks for both patients and doctors during the surgery.
To participate in this trial, patients must be at least 18 years old and not require supplemental oxygen before the procedure. They should be scheduled for an endoscopy without any additional surgeries planned. Participants will undergo monitoring before, during, and after the procedure to ensure their oxygen levels are safe and to gather important information about the effectiveness of HFOT. This study aims to improve the safety and outcomes of endoscopy surgeries for patients with throat and esophagus conditions.
