ClinConnect Summary

The PARAGLIDE study is looking at two different techniques used to apply pressure on the throat during general anesthesia to see which one helps doctors get a better view of the vocal cords. This is important because a clear view can make it easier to insert a breathing tube safely. In this trial, patients will experience three different situations: no pressure at all, cricoid pressure (a common technique), and paratracheal pressure (another method). The study will help determine which method might work best for helping doctors manage airways during surgery.

To participate in this trial, you need to be at least 18 years old and scheduled for a surgery that requires general anesthesia and a breathing tube. You should be in generally good health with no previous issues with intubation or known problems with your airway. If you meet these criteria, you will be asked to give your written consent before taking part in the study. This is a great opportunity to contribute to research that could improve how anesthesia is managed in the future!
