ClinConnect Summary
The Cycle Nation Communities trial is designed to encourage more people to cycle by comparing two different cycling programs. One group of participants will take part in a special 9-week group-based cycling program, while another group will attend a standard cycling session. The goal is to see how these programs affect people's cycling habits, health, and overall wellbeing. Participants will be adults who don’t cycle often—less than once a month—and will be randomly assigned to one of the two programs. They will be evaluated at the start, after the program, and again a year later to see how they’ve changed.
To join the trial, you need to be at least 18 years old, able to ride a bicycle, and willing to attend at least 6 out of the 9 in-person sessions. You should not be a regular cyclist (cycling at least once a month) or have any health issues that prevent you from engaging in moderate physical activity. If you decide to participate, you’ll be helping us understand how to promote cycling in the community, which may lead to healthier lifestyles for many people. Your feedback will also help us assess how effective and valuable the program is in the long run.
