ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is exploring whether a special course designed to enhance surgical training for medical students can improve their knowledge and skills in gynecologic surgery. The study involves students from Wayne State University who will participate in a Surgical Operating Room Enrichment Course, which includes online lectures about important topics like gynecologic anatomy and how to handle emergencies. Researchers want to find out if this enhanced curriculum makes students feel more comfortable and confident in performing gynecologic procedures compared to their peers who only take the standard training.
To be eligible for this study, participants must be medical students currently enrolled in a five-week OBGYN clinical rotation at Wayne State University and be willing to complete surveys and attend all lectures. The study will include about 60 students, and their participation is voluntary. They will take surveys before and after the training to measure any improvements in their knowledge and confidence. All responses will be kept private, ensuring that no personal information is shared. This trial aims to see if this new approach to training can better prepare medical students for real-life surgical situations.
