ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how well a procedure called varicocele ligation can help men with a condition known as non-obstructive azoospermia, which means they have no sperm in their semen due to issues with sperm production rather than blockages. Varicoceles are swollen veins in the scrotum that can affect sperm production, and they are a common treatable cause of male infertility. The trial is currently looking for men, ages 18 to 45, who have been diagnosed with non-obstructive azoospermia and have a palpable varicocele (meaning the doctor can feel it).
If you join this trial, you will undergo the varicocele ligation procedure, and researchers will monitor the success of sperm retrieval afterward. It’s important to note that men who have obstructive azoospermia, non-palpable varicoceles, or certain genetic conditions, like Klinefelter syndrome, are not eligible to participate. This study hopes to provide valuable insights into improving fertility options for men facing similar challenges.
