ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a method called the Quadroiliac Plane (QIP) block to see if it can help reduce the amount of pain medication needed after surgery for a broken thigh bone (femur). The researchers want to find out if this block lowers the use of opioid painkillers like fentanyl within the first 24 hours after surgery, and whether it helps control pain better than standard care. They will also check for any side effects or complications from using the block.
To participate in this study, you must be an adult aged 18 or older who is scheduled for surgery to fix a femur fracture. Participants will receive either the QIP block or standard care after their surgery, and they will use a special device that allows them to manage their own pain medication. Throughout the day after surgery, researchers will ask about your pain levels and overall recovery. The trial is not yet recruiting participants, but it aims to gather important information about how well this new pain relief method works.
