ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at the best way to help patients recover after surgery for hand flexor injuries. Specifically, it will compare the effectiveness of video instructions to written or spoken instructions for early motion rehabilitation, which means moving the hand soon after surgery to help it heal properly. The researchers want to find out if patients who watch video instructions are more likely to follow their rehabilitation plan than those who only receive written or verbal guidance.
To participate in this study, you need to be at least 18 years old and have a specific type of hand injury that can be treated with a method called WALANT, which allows surgery without full anesthesia. Unfortunately, if you are under 18, have other injuries, or have a history of mental health issues, you won’t be eligible for this trial. If you join, you can expect to receive either video or written instructions on how to care for your hand after surgery, and the goal is to help you recover as effectively as possible.
