ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying sarcopenia, which is the loss of muscle strength and mass that often occurs as people age. Sarcopenia can lead to frailty and impact an older person's ability to live independently. The trial aims to evaluate a new device called the Biody XpertZM3, which measures muscle mass in a seated position, making the testing process easier and more comfortable for older adults compared to traditional methods that require lying down.
To participate in the trial, you need to be 60 years or older and receiving care at specific centers that focus on rehabilitation and aging. You should also be covered by a social security system and be able to provide informed consent. However, individuals with certain conditions, like having a pacemaker or other electronic devices, or specific health issues that affect measurements, will not be eligible. Participants will undergo a simple and quick muscle mass assessment, and this study will help improve how sarcopenia is diagnosed in the future, ultimately benefiting older adults as they age.
