ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial, called the Economic Empowerment and Health Promotion of Uganda Grandmother-caregivers, is focused on supporting grandmothers in Uganda who are caring for their grandchildren. Many of these grandmothers face financial and health challenges, often due to issues like poverty and limited access to resources. The goal of the study is to improve their wellbeing by refining and testing a program called BAJJAJJA, designed specifically for them. Dr. Matovu will work closely with community members to make this program as effective as possible.

To be eligible for this study, participants need to be female, at least 50 years old, and the primary caregiver of a grandchild under 18 for more than six months. They should be able to manage daily tasks on their own and speak Luganda. Participants will have the chance to be part of a supportive community and help test new ways to improve their health and financial situation. This study aims to create lasting benefits for grandmothers, helping them lead healthier and more empowered lives.
