ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, called "Precision Analytic Research Methods in OCD," is focused on understanding obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and how it affects people. OCD is a mental health condition that can make daily life very challenging, as individuals may feel driven to perform certain behaviors or rituals. The study aims to explore the complex factors that contribute to compulsive behaviors by examining brain activity and cognitive processes in both adults with OCD and healthy individuals. Researchers hope that by gaining a deeper understanding of these interactions, they can develop more personalized and effective treatments for those suffering from OCD.
To participate in this trial, individuals must be between 18 and 55 years old, speak English, and be right-handed. They should also be able to give their consent to join the study. However, those with certain other psychiatric disorders, those taking psychiatric medications, or those who have recently received treatment for OCD may not be eligible. Healthy participants will also be screened to ensure they don’t have personal or family histories of psychiatric disorders. If you join the study, you can expect to engage in tasks that help researchers learn more about how OCD works and how it can be treated better in the future.
