ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at the differences in certain health markers in people who have high levels of triglycerides (a type of fat in the blood) and are trying to lose weight through a special diet. The researchers want to see how well people with different responses to weight loss – some losing a lot of weight and others not as much – are doing in terms of their heart and metabolic health.
To be eligible for this study, participants should be between 65 and 75 years old, have a body mass index (BMI) greater than 25, and have mild to moderate high triglyceride levels (between 150 and 500 mg/dL). They should not be taking specific medications called fibrates that affect triglyceride levels. Participants can expect to provide blood samples for testing, and they will need to commit to staying in the study without changing their treatment plans. It’s important to know that this study is not yet recruiting participants, so there will be more information available once it starts.
