ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is investigating the potential use of specific molecular markers found in fluid that collects around the lungs, known as pleural effusion, in patients with lung adenocarcinoma, a type of lung cancer. The goal is to see if these markers can help doctors diagnose lung adenocarcinoma more effectively. Researchers will be looking at samples from patients who need a procedure called thoracentesis, which is done to remove this fluid for both relief and testing.
To participate in this trial, you need to be between the ages of 65 and 74 and have been advised by your doctor to undergo thoracentesis due to pleural effusion. Unfortunately, patients under 18 or those with other types of cancer cannot join the study. If you take part, you will provide consent for your sample to be used in this research, which could help improve diagnosis and treatment for lung cancer in the future. Keep in mind that this trial is not yet recruiting participants, so you will need to wait until it officially starts.
