ClinConnect Summary
The "Healing Within" clinical trial is designed to help women from Northern Plains Tribal communities stop smoking, especially those who have faced intimate partner violence. The study will evaluate how well a new smoking cessation program works for these women, focusing on their experiences and satisfaction with the intervention. If this program proves effective, it could be adapted for use in other American Indian Tribes and communities.
To participate in the trial, women must be at least 18 years old, smoke at least five cigarettes a day, and have experienced physical or psychological violence from a partner. Participants will engage in a supportive environment where they can learn mindfulness techniques to help them quit smoking. The trial is currently recruiting, and it offers a unique opportunity for eligible women to gain valuable skills and support in their journey to quit smoking.
