ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how a condition called central sensitization affects pain after surgery in women with endometriosis and adenomyosis. Central sensitization is when the nervous system becomes overly sensitive, leading to increased pain. The researchers will be looking at over 200 female patients between the ages of 18 and 50 who have had surgery to remove endometriosis or adenomyosis. They will collect important information about each patient's health history, pain levels, and various factors like age and surgical methods to understand how these might relate to pain after surgery.
To participate, women need to be admitted to the gynecological ward at Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hospital between March 2025 and March 2027. They should not be postmenopausal and should not have had certain types of surgeries before the study begins. Participants can expect to have their pain levels evaluated before and after surgery over a six-month period. The goal is to figure out how well different medications help with pain relief after surgery and if initial pain sensitivity can predict how severe post-surgery pain might be. This research aims to improve pain management for women dealing with these challenging conditions.
