ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at two different pain relief methods for patients undergoing total knee replacement surgery (TKA). The study aims to find out if combining two types of regional anesthesia—an Adductor Canal Block (ACB) with a Sacral Erector Spinae Plane (ESP) block—provides better pain relief and helps patients recover more effectively after surgery. Participants will be adults over 18 years old who are scheduled for a single knee replacement and are expected to stay in the hospital for more than 24 hours.
To be part of this study, participants should be generally healthy (classified as ASA I-III, which is a way to assess their physical status) and not have any serious medical conditions that would prevent them from receiving anesthesia. Those who are eligible will receive the ACB and sacral ESP block as part of their standard care and will be monitored for 48 hours after surgery to see how well they manage pain and recover. It’s important to note that the trial is not yet recruiting participants, and individuals with allergies to local anesthetics, certain medical conditions, or those taking specific medications may not be able to participate.
