ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how different types of melons affect blood sugar levels in healthy adults. Specifically, researchers want to find out the glycemic index (GI) and glycemic load (GL) of various melon varieties. The glycemic index is a number that shows how quickly a food can raise blood sugar after eating it, while glycemic load takes into account the amount of carbohydrates in the food. Participants will eat set portions of different melons that have similar amounts of carbohydrates, and their blood sugar levels will be measured after eating.
To join this study, participants need to be healthy adults between the ages of 18 and 50 with a normal body weight. They should be willing to follow the dietary guidelines provided and attend all scheduled testing sessions. However, individuals with certain health issues, such as diabetes or metabolic disorders, or those taking medications that affect blood sugar, cannot participate. This study is not yet recruiting participants, but if you meet the criteria, it could be an interesting way to learn more about how melons impact blood sugar!
