Erector Spinae Plane Block Patient Positioning Ultrasound Guided Regional Anesthesia

ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying the best way to position patients during a specific type of pain relief procedure called the erector spinae plane (ESP) block. This procedure is being tested for people undergoing laparoscopic cholecystectomy, which is a surgery to remove the gallbladder. The researchers want to see how different positions—lying on the side, lying on the stomach, or sitting—affect pain relief after surgery. They will also look at how much pain medication participants need and how satisfied they are with their pain management.

To be eligible for this study, participants should be between 18 and 65 years old, scheduled for the laparoscopic cholecystectomy, and in good health overall. They need to be able to understand the study and give written consent. However, some people may not qualify if they have certain conditions, such as allergies to pain medications or serious spinal issues. If you join this trial, you can expect to help researchers learn more about effective pain management techniques, which could benefit future patients undergoing similar surgeries.
