ClinConnect Summary

This study in Istanbul, Turkey is an observational project to see if Turkish versions of the Scale of Food Allergy Anxiety (SOFAA) work well for both children and their parents. Researchers will have children aged 8 to 18 who have a diagnosed IgE-mediated food allergy complete the child version (SOFAA-C) and their parents complete the parent version (SOFAA-P) in Turkish. They will check how consistently the questions measure anxiety about food allergies, whether the questions fit the expected structure, and, for a subset of participants, whether scores stay similar when the test is repeated about 10–14 days later. No results are available yet.

Who can join and what to expect: eligible participants are kids 8–18 with a confirmed food allergy and at least one parent willing to participate, with fluency in Turkish. Exclusion criteria include major neurodevelopmental or psychiatric conditions that would make it hard to fill out the questionnaires. This is a questionnaire-only study (no treatment) and enrollment is ongoing by invitation at Prof. Dr. Cemil Taşıoğlu Education and Research Hospital in Istanbul. If the study moves forward to broader sharing, researchers can request aggregated results after completion, while individual data will not be made public. The study is expected to finish around January 2027.
