ClinConnect Summary
The "Young Stroke Service Deep Phenotyping" trial is a research study taking place in several hospitals in Melbourne, Australia. It aims to learn more about young adults aged 18 to 55 who have experienced a stroke. The main focus is to see how effective and practical a detailed health assessment process—known as "deep phenotyping"—can be in understanding each participant's unique recovery journey. This involves gathering various health information and samples to explore how different factors, like age, sex, lifestyle, and biological markers, may affect recovery after a stroke.
To participate in this study, individuals must be between 18 and 55 years old and have had a confirmed stroke within the last month. Unfortunately, those with severe illnesses or major psychiatric conditions that require medical treatment cannot take part. Participants will go through a comprehensive assessment process, and the findings from this pilot study will help inform larger future studies aimed at improving recovery for young stroke survivors.
