ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how exposure to ionizing radiation affects oral health, specifically by looking at certain markers in saliva. Researchers want to find out if workers who have been exposed to radiation in their jobs have different saliva compositions compared to those who haven’t been exposed. To do this, they will collect saliva samples and check the participants' oral health by measuring the amount of plaque on their teeth.
The study will include 90 male participants aged 30 to 40 years who have worked in a hospital in Baghdad. Eligible participants must not have any serious health issues or have taken medications in the past three months and should have been exposed to radiation for at least 5 years but no more than 10 years. Those who qualify will provide unstimulated saliva samples, and their oral health will be evaluated. It’s important to note that the trial is not yet recruiting participants, so it will start in the future.
