ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how different types of anesthesia affect recovery quality and patient satisfaction for men undergoing a specific type of prostate surgery called Holmium Laser Enucleation of the Prostate (HoLEP). The research will compare three anesthesia methods: general anesthesia, spinal anesthesia, and a combination of spinal and epidural anesthesia. Participants will be asked to fill out a questionnaire about their recovery experience both before and after the surgery.
To be eligible for this study, participants must be male patients scheduled for HoLEP surgery due to a condition called benign prostatic hyperplasia, which is an enlargement of the prostate. They also need to agree to participate in the study. However, those with cognitive impairments, who are taking certain medications, or who might need a change in anesthesia during the surgery won't be included. This study is not yet recruiting participants, but it aims to provide valuable insights into how anesthesia choices can improve recovery for older men after their surgery.
