ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is comparing two different methods of providing pain relief during a specific type of surgery called video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS). The two methods being tested are called the Serratus Posterior Plane Block and the Erector Spinae Plane Block. Both techniques involve injecting a local anesthetic to help manage pain by blocking signals from the nerves in the back. The goal of the study is to see if both methods are equally effective at reducing pain, which could change our understanding of how these anesthetic techniques work.
To participate in this trial, patients need to be between the ages of 65 and 74 and scheduled for VATS surgery. However, those who are under 20 years old, have a high body weight, or might face complications during their surgery cannot join. If you decide to participate, you can expect to receive one of the two pain relief methods during your surgery, and the results will help inform future practices for managing pain in similar procedures. The trial is currently not recruiting participants, so it will be important to check back for updates if you are interested.
