ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how a program called Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) can help healthcare professionals manage stress better. Mindfulness means being aware of the present moment and accepting it without judgment, while self-compassion involves being kind to oneself during tough times. The researchers believe that practicing mindfulness can help healthcare workers feel less stressed and more compassionate toward themselves, which is especially important given how stressful their jobs can be.
To participate in the study, healthcare professionals need to have a higher-than-average level of stress, as measured by a specific questionnaire. Those who have certain communication difficulties, are currently practicing other stress-reducing techniques, or are pregnant will not be eligible. Participants in the MBSR program will attend sessions over eight weeks, where they will learn techniques to improve their awareness and emotional acceptance. Throughout the study, researchers will measure changes in mindfulness, self-compassion, and stress levels, looking at both survey results and biological markers related to stress. This study aims to help healthcare professionals develop better coping skills, which could lead to improved well-being and job performance.
