ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at whether a short, 4-minute mindfulness exercise can help reduce pain for patients visiting a free acute care clinic. Mindfulness is a simple practice that helps you focus on the present moment, which some people find helpful in managing pain. The study will compare this mindfulness audio recording to another 4-minute recording that provides information about pain, to see which one works better.
Adults aged 18 and older who are receiving care at the Shepherd’s Hope Downtown Clinic may be eligible to join, as long as they don’t have cognitive issues or other serious health problems that might make participating difficult. If you take part, you will listen to one of the two audio recordings while at the clinic. The study is open to both English and Spanish speakers, and it is currently recruiting patients. This research could help find simple, easy-to-use ways to support people dealing with pain during their clinic visits.
