ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying whether special education and counseling can help teenage pregnant women feel more confident and positive about breastfeeding their babies. The program includes learning about breastfeeding before the baby is born and getting support and follow-up counseling after birth. The goal is to make it easier for young mothers to start and continue breastfeeding, which is important for both their health and their baby’s health.
Teen girls between 14 and 19 years old who are pregnant with one baby and at least 28 weeks along may be eligible to join if they plan to breastfeed and are willing to participate in the education and counseling sessions. Participants will receive breastfeeding education based on a proven theory that helps increase confidence, along with ongoing support after the baby is born. This study hopes to improve young mothers’ attitudes about breastfeeding and help them breastfeed successfully, addressing common challenges faced by adolescent mothers.
