ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying whether adding a special breathing exercise called Buteyko breathing to regular asthma medicine can help children with uncontrolled asthma breathe better. The study will compare children who do the breathing exercises along with their usual medicine to those who only take their medicine. The goal is to see if this combined approach improves asthma control over four weeks.

Children aged 7 to 17 years who have asthma that isn’t fully controlled and are already using asthma medicine may be eligible to join. To participate, children and their parents need to agree to follow the study until it ends and be able to understand instructions. The trial does not include children who are currently in the hospital, have certain serious health problems, or have already done similar breathing exercises. Participants will be taught how to do the Buteyko breathing exercises and will continue their usual asthma treatment during the study. This research could help find new ways to manage asthma better in children.
