ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying different treatments for overactive bladder (OAB) in women in Taiwan. Overactive bladder causes frequent and sudden urges to urinate, which can affect daily life. The study compares three common treatments—two types of oral medications (mirabegron and solifenacin) and injections of botulinum toxin (BoNTA)—to understand how each one affects the bladder’s function, especially how hard the bladder works when emptying and how stretchy it is during filling. The researchers are using a special way to measure bladder activity that looks at pressure and volume changes, giving a clearer picture of how these treatments work beyond usual tests.
Women with OAB who do not have diabetes, stroke, or other serious medical problems may be eligible to join. Participants can expect to have tests that measure bladder pressure and volume during urination, helping doctors learn which treatment best supports bladder function. The study also includes work with animal models to better understand these treatments, which could help improve personalized care for people with overactive bladder in the future. The trial is currently recruiting female participants.
