ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is exploring a new way to help children with cerebral palsy (CP) exercise more easily at home using a special app on a tablet. Cerebral palsy is a condition that affects movement and muscle control, and this study focuses on children who can walk or stand on their own (classified as GMFCS levels I-II). The app will offer guided exercise sessions, either live with a coach or through pre-recorded videos, designed with input from children, their families, and healthcare and sports professionals. The goal is to see if this app-based exercise program is practical and helpful to improve these children’s health and overall well-being, while making it easier for families by reducing the need to travel to appointments.
The study is looking for about 20 children aged 10 to 16 years old, including those with cerebral palsy who can walk independently and a group of children without CP for comparison. Participants will try the exercise program for six weeks, starting with supervised sessions and then moving to exercises they can do on their own at convenient times. Families and children will share their feedback to help improve the program. This study is important because it could lead to a new, convenient way to support children with CP in staying active and healthy from home.
