ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying how exercises that strengthen your core muscles—the muscles around your stomach and back—might help men recover better after serious hand injuries. Hand injuries can happen from accidents at home, work, sports, or traffic, and they can affect how well your hand works and even your emotional well-being. This study wants to see if adding core strengthening exercises to regular hand therapy can improve hand movement, strength, and how patients feel emotionally, such as reducing anxiety or frustration.

The study will include 51 men between the ages of 20 and 50 who have had traumatic hand injuries that required surgery and are of moderate to severe severity. Participants will be split into three groups: one will do standard hand rehabilitation, the second will do hand rehab plus supervised core exercises, and the third will do hand rehab plus core exercises on their own using videos. The rehab programs will last six weeks, with exercises several times a week, and patients will be monitored for improvements in hand function, quality of life, and emotional health. This is an important study because it looks not only at physical recovery but also at how core strengthening might help with the emotional challenges that come with hand injuries.
