ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a type of therapy called Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to help people who have ongoing stress and emotional difficulties after being in a road traffic accident. The goal is to see if this group therapy can reduce symptoms like anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress, while also improving overall quality of life. The study will include adults aged 18 to 45 who had a traffic accident between 3 months and 10 years ago and are interested in trying this treatment.
If you join the study, you’ll be randomly assigned to receive the group therapy and will be asked to complete simple questionnaires about your stress and well-being before treatment, right after, and one month later. The therapy involves guided sessions that help you process difficult memories and feelings related to the accident. People with severe mental health conditions or recent accidents (less than 3 months ago) won’t be eligible, as the study focuses on those with ongoing but stable symptoms. This research aims to find out if EMDR group therapy is a helpful and practical option for people recovering from road accidents, especially in places where resources might be limited.
