Sarcopenia Older Adults Exercise Nutrition Standard Intervention

ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying whether a 12-week program that combines exercise and nutrition can help older adults who have sarcopenia, a condition that causes muscles to become weak and lose mass. The goal is to see if this combined approach improves muscle strength, walking speed, overall physical ability, and quality of life. Researchers will check these improvements by measuring things like hand grip strength, walking pace, muscle power, and muscle size before the program, right after 12 weeks, and again 12 weeks later.

People who might join this study are between 65 and 90 years old, have sarcopenia based on specific criteria, and also have metabolic syndrome, which is a group of conditions affecting health such as high blood pressure or blood sugar. Participants should be able to safely do the exercise part of the program and not have serious kidney, lung, heart, liver, or other chronic diseases that could interfere. If you join, you will take part in a combined exercise and nutrition plan designed to improve muscle health, and your progress will be carefully tracked over 24 weeks. This study is currently looking for volunteers who want to help find better ways to manage sarcopenia in older adults.
