ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at a new way to help doctors understand how advanced bladder cancer is before surgery. Specifically, it is testing a method called ultrasound-guided core needle biopsy. This technique uses ultrasound (a safe imaging method) to guide a small needle to take a tiny tissue sample from the bladder tumor. The goal is to see if this method can accurately show the stage of bladder cancer, which helps doctors decide the best treatment.
People who may join this study are adults aged 65 to 74 who have confirmed or suspected bladder cancer and are scheduled to have their bladder removed through surgery (called radical cystectomy). To be eligible, participants should have had abdominal imaging done before and should not have had certain bladder surgeries in the past, like a partial bladder removal or complex bladder reconstruction. If you take part, you can expect to have this biopsy procedure done before your planned surgery, which may give your doctors more detailed information about your cancer. This study is currently recruiting patients who meet these criteria.
