ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a type of exercise program called the modified Poco-Poco, designed to help older adults improve their health and strength at home. The study is comparing two ways of doing this exercise: one group will do the exercises at home with supervision and guidance, while the other group will do the exercises on their own without supervision. The goal is to see which method works better for elderly people who have sarcopenia, a condition where muscle strength and mass decrease with age.
To join the study, participants need to be over 60 years old, have sarcopenia, and have a certain level of mental function and low feelings of loneliness. They or their caregivers must also have a device that can play videos and use Zoom for communication. People with serious hearing or vision problems, severe joint or heart diseases, or who are already doing regular exercise programs won’t be eligible. If you participate, you can expect to follow the Poco-Poco exercise routine at home, either with support from the study team or on your own, and help researchers understand the best way to support older adults in staying active safely.
