ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying whether adding coenzyme Q10 (a natural antioxidant) and probiotics (good bacteria) to regular dental care can help improve gum health in pregnant women. The researchers want to see if this combination can reduce dental plaque and gum inflammation better than standard cleaning alone. Forty pregnant women will take part, with half receiving a special toothpaste containing coenzyme Q10 plus daily probiotics, while the other half will use the same toothpaste without probiotics. Everyone will get professional teeth cleaning every three months, and the study will last six months.
Women who are between their 4th and 8th month of pregnancy, at least 18 years old, and able to communicate in Italian or English may be eligible to join. Participants will need to follow study instructions and attend regular dental visits. The study will measure how well the treatments reduce plaque, bleeding, and other signs of gum disease. This research hopes to find safe and helpful ways to keep gums healthy during pregnancy, which is important for both mother and baby.
